When you’re hiring volunteers or employees to work with children and vulnerable adults, you don’t have the luxury of time. You need experienced and trustworthy people available to support as quickly as possible and recruiting them shouldn’t be a chore.

But you have a duty to keep these vulnerable groups safe and that means making sure candidates have completed an appropriate check through the Disclosure and Barring Service (England and Wales).

These checks can be complex and are often completed incorrectly, slowing down the process for you. It also requires the sharing of very sensitive information; emailing and photocopying personal documents, or keeping personal information in paper archives means potentially falling below minimum regulatory standards.

How it works

How it works

1. Select checks and send request

Your recruiting team sends a request for pre-employment checks via secure email link.

2. Checks are completed remotely or in-person

From their own device the candidate securely submits their information and documents for verification. While DBS requires you to see physical copies of ID documentation at some point in the process, this can be carried out later to prevent any hold-ups.

3. Review submitted documentation and results

Candidate documentation and verification report are received, stored and encrypted within your Amiqus account. You can then submit to DBS and you’ll receive an indicative result in 72 hours.
