Amiqus, the UK’s leading compliance and onboarding platform and 5th fastest growing fintech, has achieved high confidence profile certification under the UK Trust Framework, enabling a digital approach for all levels of Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) criminal record checks.

The certification covers basic, standard, and enhanced DBS checks, allowing hiring organisations to carry out combined fully digital, end-to-end right to work and criminal record checks from a single platform.

Working directly with DBS, Amiqus ensures that identity verification and background checks can be conducted to the highest standards and accurate check results are quickly delivered to the hiring organisation.

“Building trust in digital products and services is fundamental to the work Amiqus does for our partners and clients. To make things accessible, simple and repeatable online, engaging openly with the work of governments and aligning to the standards they set means we’re in the best possible position to engage with regulated organisations and the clients they serve.

Adding the H1a and H1b identity profiles to our IDSP certification further demonstrates the highest levels of rigour in relation to our approach towards the biometric verification, data governance and approach to digital identity proofing.

DSIT, DBS and others at a national level are making significant strides in their approach to enabling the UK digital economy via the digital Identity Trust Framework. Having been involved from initial consultations through Alpha and now Beta, we’re pleased to play our part.”

Why does this matter for employers?

One of the significant challenges faced by employers when conducting pre-employment screening and DBS checks are the lengthy delays and complex manual and outsourced processes. The Amiqus platform directly integrates with DBS and Disclosure Scotland, eliminating the need to meet candidates in person or rely on third-party providers. As a result, the time taken to complete standard and enhanced DBS checks is reduced from weeks to days,  basic DBS check results are typically returned to the Amiqus platform within 24 hours.

Amiqus also offers fallback routes supporting verification of government issued documents such as driving licences and other forms in relation to proof of address for DBS checks, in cases where the candidate does not possess a passport. This feature allows organisations to comply with regulations while offering an accessible and user-friendly experience.

We’re trusted by the government, regulators and hundreds of organisations across sectors including the NHS Business Service Authority who made efficiency savings of £1.3 million in six months by speeding up their right to work and DBS processes using Amiqus.

If you’re looking for a trusted partner to support your organisation, manage digital right to work checks, all types of DBS criminal record checks and your pre-employment screening process, we’d love to hear from you.
