About the role
This role will be a crucial figure within our growing engineering function. This has an integral role in our growth plan and will help shape the future of our infrastructure, as well as our build, deployment, and monitoring processes. You will have the autonomy to improve the day-to-day operation of a mature, well-tested application regularly used by thousands of people. The successful candidate will work closely with our Platform Team Manager and existing platform engineers to solve challenges and implement solutions.
Main responsibilities include:
- Build, improve and maintain infrastructure using AWS, Terraform, Python and related tools
- Contribute to secure, reliable CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes across environments
- Work with senior engineers to support infrastructure design and decision-making
- Take responsibility for delivering your work, raising blockers early and asking questions when needed
- Proactively identify and resolve issues, and participate in debugging and performance improvements
- Collaborate with your team to improve tooling and platform reliability
- Contribute to documentation, observability and automation efforts to improve platform quality
- Stay informed about the tools and technologies we use, and be open to learning and applying new ones
- Support the team in achieving shared goals and maintaining a strong engineering culture
About you

- You’re confident working with AWS, Terraform, and container-based infrastructure, and know when to ask for input
- You take ownership of your work and deliver consistently with minimal supervision
- You’re naturally curious and enjoy learning how things work under the hood
- You’re thoughtful about solving problems and take pride in writing clean, maintainable infrastructure code
- You’re comfortable collaborating across teams, sharing your work, and contributing to shared decisions
- You’re open to feedback and willing to admit when you don’t know something
- You care about doing things well, not just getting them done
Our Platform Tech- AWS: ECS, Lambda, RDS, S3, Opensearch, Elasticache, Secrets Manager
- Infrastructure: Terraform for infrastructure as code, Docker for containerisation
- CI/CD: GitHub Actions for automated builds and deployments
- Scripting: Python and shell for tools and automation
- Monitoring & Observability: Datadog and AWS CloudWatch
- Application stack: Laravel (PHP) and VueJS

Our interview process

- Internal review of applications
- An initial chat about the role with our People & Engagement Manager
- A non-technical interview with the Team Manager and one other manager
- A technical interview with the Team Manager and a senior engineer
