Enhanced background checking
Vetting people for work in a position of trust can be a complex and lengthy process. But our latest update makes it quicker and easier.
You need experienced and trustworthy people onboarded as quickly as possible and recruiting them shouldn’t be a chore. But the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks required in England and Wales to vet candidates and employees can be complex. They’re often completed incorrectly, slowing down the process for you.
Get to work on the things that matter faster
Our latest update means it’s possible to request DBS checks through Amiqus. Your candidates and employees can complete the checks from their own device. This speeds up the process, improves accuracy and means it can be done remotely, at their own convenience.
You’ll receive an indicative result in 72 hours, so you can progress with the next steps of onboarding while you wait on the paper certificate.
We cover the full range of DBS checks:
- Basic DBS check - This is a simple criminal record check that can technically be requested by anyone but is commonly used by employers for low risk roles. It checks the Police National Computer for details of current criminal convictions.
- Standard DBS check - This is only available to employers for people applying or continuing to work in a position of trust. This looks a little deeper into the candidate’s criminal record for previous and current convictions, cautions, reprimands and final warnings.
- Enhanced DBS check - Similar to the Standard DBS check but checks people working with vulnerable groups for previous and current convictions, cautions, reprimands and final warnings plus any local police information that might be relevant..
- Barred lists DBS check - This is something you can add on to your Enhanced DBS check to make sure candidates don’t feature on lists of people barred from working with vulnerable groups.
